Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-27.
This privacy policy explains how RM Autos [trading name / company to confirm] ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal information when you use our website or contact us about buying or selling a vehicle. We are the data controller for the information you provide.
What we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, through our enquiry and valuation forms or when you contact us directly. This can include:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Details of a vehicle you're enquiring about, or one you want to sell or part exchange (registration, make, model, year, mileage, condition, service history and finance status)
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a message
We do not collect any special category data, and we do not ask for payment card details through this website.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, provide a valuation, and talk to you about buying or selling a vehicle. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our business, and, where you've asked us to value or buy your car, taking steps at your request before entering into a possible contract.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information to anyone. Your enquiry is sent to us by our website's form provider (Netlify) purely so we receive it. We may use a vehicle history provider to verify details of a car you're selling. We will only share your information with others where we're required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch, and then we delete it. If we buy or sell a vehicle to you, we may need to keep some records for longer to meet our legal and tax obligations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. To do any of these, just contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't run analytics that identify you. Because of that, there's no cookie banner — there's nothing non-essential to consent to.
Contact us
If you have any questions about your information, contact us at info@rmautosuk.com or on 07803 543727.
